Operating Principle

The tester has a slot end with a rectangular opening that is 0.04 inches wide and 0.045 inches long. The sharpness of two reference dimensions is measured by inserting the tested tip into the slot end

The sensing head has a depth of 0.015 inches and can overcome a spring with an elastic force of 0.5 pounds to move the sensing head another 0.005 inches confirmed as a sharp point

Operation Steps

Fix the sample so that it does not move during the test Adjust the tester, loosen the locking ring and move it a sufficient distance towards the indicator light to expose the calibration reference mark on the cylinder. Rotate the measuring cap clockwise until the indicator light is on, and then reverse it to move the measuring cap past the calibration reference mark by 5 grids. Rotate the locking ring until it is close to the measuring cap Insert the inspection slot from various directions, apply a force of 4.45N, and the light will be a sharp point Requirement: The slot opening should not exceed 0.040 × 0.045 inches, the contact depth should not be less than 0.015 inches, and the applied force should not exceed 1 pound
